3 Ways To Get The Most Out Of Your Music Lessons

Listen to this article

Whether you’re using a book, movie, a real live person, or internet classes, keep these tips in mind in order to get the absolute most out our your studies.

1. Complete and grasp each section before moving on to the next: As you work through your studies be sure you have each new procedure or idea conquered before moving on to the next. Lessons are planned to build upon each other and attempting to rush through without completely knowing one will only cause frustration and wasted efforts.

2. Study as if you were in school. Do a little homework every night. If all you’ve got is 15 minutes then use the following 15 minutes. If you dont have the time to read/watch and apply then perform the program of your very last drills or lesson such as chords and scales. Reading/watching rather than getting the opportunity to apply immediately will generally mean you need to relearn your own lesson. Take notes. Particularly if youre watching a movie or working with an individual. Also dont be scared to write all on your workbooks and sheet songs.

3. Employ what youve learned: Play for others. Your church, your family, that spare piano sitting in your favorite department store (ask first). Nothing drives a music lesson home greater than the usual recital. It will also magnify exactly what you will need to work on.

These tips work if your a kid or an adult. Learning to play an instrument is an excellent activity.
