5 Reasons to Learn Music Theory

If you thought music concept has been a waste of time and not required to further your musical objectives, then read these subsequent 5 reasons why this isn’t true.

1. Read sheet music: Being able to play from any piece of sheet music. Well it may be tricky to play BUT you can read it!

2. Be able to transpose: Suppose you are playing with a piece from the sheet music you can now read but you think it seems too high or too large, or simply not perfect. Well now you can move it to some new key and perform at a much greater singing.

3. Be able to modulate: You are going to have the ability to, with a couple of quick moves of the palms, move your audio into a new key with a succession of notes pleasing to your ear it may bring a smile to your listeners confronts.

4. It will increase your skill in improvising: Enough said.

5. Understanding music theory can allow you to recreate the sounds you enjoy in your favourite songs. Those magnificent chord progressions. The parts that provide a song that certain sound. Gospel, Contemporary etc..

To learn music theory you dont have to be a scholar on the subject. Only at least understand the fundamentals. Obtaining a good music theory publication and spending a couple of minutes a day reading out of it and doing any comprised exercises might jump start your music playing.
