A Backpack With Wheels?

Listen to this article

I wouldn’t have thought a backpack with wheels could really work for backpacking, but when I saw the web site for its”Wheelpacker”(TM), I was impressed. You put on a frame which attaches to a pack that is wheeled. It can even go over rocks and logs. I started me thinking about what backpacking inventions are only waiting to be promoted. Here are a few of the things I came up with. Steal these ideas, please.

Inflatable Frame Backpack

Together with backpacks we place folded sleeping pads. Why don’t you simply have the component. With the identical technology utilized for lightweight sleeping bag pads that are self-inflating, it would just add about six ounces. The backpack could then twice as a foot-bag/pad for sleeping.

Taking this idea further, I envision a self-inflating backpack which folds out into a pad. The backpack”frame” are the mat, at a”U” shape for several rigidity in the package. Sleeping bag pads really are light as 14 ounce today, so the combination could be designed to weigh only 20 ounces and 12 ounces are less packed by frame.

Wax Paper Food Bags

Put food. The bundles then twice as emergency fire-starters, because wax paper will often burn when wet.

Pillow/Waterbag

I use the vinyl bladders from boxed 15, While I want to transport water. They are light, powerful, and I inflate the bag with air to use as a pillow. To market a water container/pillow that is dual-purpose, it needs a removable covering of some type.

Jacket Backpack

Why not a frame-less backpack having a coat that’s a part of the package? It could be folded out of their way, along with the package would have shoulder straps that were regular. When wearing the coat the bunch might stabilize, keep you warmer, also make it easy to push through thick brush, because it would not catch on items. It’s something like sporting a jacket but using stability and the weight-savings that come from mixing them. It might be known as a”Jacket Pack-it.”

Backpacking Game

Publish a plank on backpack or a coat, and you have a match that weighs nothing more. Great for spending hours at the tent waiting out the rain. If you don’t carry the pieces, pine cones or stones may work as checkers.

Gear thoughts and inventions keep popping into my head as I write this. Most derive from the idea of”dual function” items. They could work, some might not, but it is an entertaining dose of inspiration out of a backpack with wheels.
