Asylum – Movie Review

Listen to this article

A group of pupils discover that their dorm used to be the asylum run by a mad doctor, using a flair for inflicting torture and pain to his patients (as he believes this to be the cure for their illnesses). The spirit of the physician is awakened, and is out to find new patients to cure.

I had expected prior to entering the film home something out of the picture. It was because of the poster, or perhaps even the name. I didnt get to view it straight from the beginning (as I came in around 20 minutes into the film ), and I had been planning to stick around more just to get to see the beginning. But right after I caught a glimpse of the cinematography, I knew I made the wrong option. It was dull. It had been draggy. The cinematography was something that a student might have done. There was air. The narrative was too predictable (such as Ive seen this slasher kind of film a thousand times)and it had been too shallow. The peaks were futile attempts in attempting to sew the crowds frighten nerves. The rest of the film was not worse than the ending. Ive never regretted watching a film and felt like I wasted my money on watching a film until this one. To sum up it: this is a waste of money.
