Set for Launch on March 30, 2007, Blades of Glory by Dreamworks is a sports comedy Led by Josh Gordon and Will Speck and Produced by Ben Stiller.
Will Ferrell and Jon Heder are the lead”pair”, who use a loophole to perform their action in this movie – that will be to”Kick a Ice”.
Thus, welcome into the world of competitive figure skating – and all its passion and energy generated through an unlikely pair that aim to steal the trophy, beating the chance. Two guys skating together — Chazz Michael Michaels (Will Ferrell) and Jimmy MacElroy (Jon Heder) – been the first male pair from the history of figure skating!
As aintitcool.com states,’figure skating for the first time is ultimately watchable. Also, hilarious.
Blades of Glory is all about two rival figure skaters (Ferrell and Heder) who after having a struggle with each other before 30,000 fans, have their gold medals stripped out of them and are prohibited from aggressive skating for a life.’
Three years later on, one is many pounds heavier while another is still girlish, but nevertheless not”sexy”. Both agree to put aside their similarities in addition to their differences – they are both guys! –and exploit a loophole (made exclusively for the movie) that would allow them to compete in the pairs figure skating course.
This category is, of course, usually earmarked for opposite-sex couples and also this duo should go face-to-face with fierce opposition from rivals a lot more experienced in the artwork, such as Stranz (Will Arnett) and Fairchild (Amy Poehler), the unrelentingly aggressive reigning champion pair.
‘Amy Poehler and Will Arnett (as evil brother and sister figure skaters) manage to steal virtually every scene they are in. There are some really great moments like a humorous ice skate chase and also some quite funny ice routines (that I will not spoil). The ice skating was never dull. And the outfits are as funny as the people wearing them, especially the outfits given to Poehler and Arnett. Jenna Fischer has never looked as sexy as this. Purr-Rawrr.’
This very funny movie was shot in both Los Angeles, California and Montreal, Quebec (Canada).
