Blessed to Be a Blessing

Listen to this article

To be blessed means to be preferred, and loyal, set aside. When you are blessed by God, he doesn’t leave out anything. It is more than well-being, prosperity or happiness. He sees His flock chosen by Him to be a peculiar people in name as sacred and in honor! (Deut. 26: 18-19) Quite simply, His blessings are designed to make you stick out from those who don’t know Him! What causes you to odd is that you are picked to be a sacred priest for Him. In this role you are to be a blessing, not just to all those about you but to Him, who has called you! (1 Pet. 3:9).

Blessings, consequently, depend upon your obedience to God and becoming a blessing to others and Him. To begin with, you need to follow His voice and keep His commandments. (Ex. 16:5-6) In order to listen to his voice and be able to distinguish it from all other voices you need to understand Him and acknowledge Him as god over your lifetime. His law will be written on the tablets of your heart, and you will be in a position where blessings shall actually overtake you. Yes! They will not accompany you but operate out awaiting for you to receive them! What kind of blessings? You will be blessed whether you reside in the city or around the property; livestock and your family will be profitable; you may have more than enough food and supplies away or whether at home. Your opponents will be defeated, and all will soon be blessed. Yes, everyone will sense that you are His and they should have regard for you. You will have a number of possessions; you’re going to lend and not borrow, and you will not be oppressed but rise above each situation that comes your way. (Deut. 28:1-13)

King David has been the perfect instance of giving and receiving blessings. I love Psalm 63, where he tells God how his soul thirsts for Him and attempts Him very first thing in the morning. David describes the entire world without God as a thirsty and dry land where no water is. He awakens to see Gods glory and strength! Marching blessings are described by him life as lovingkindness, that are far better than life ! He tells God that. My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me. (ps. 63:7) Its a gorgeous depiction of how we are to love Him, as David did, blessing Him with our lips, giving Him our heartfelt thanks even before we receive anything from Him!

In 8 17-21 it is as if the Lord answers David: I love those who love me. Riches and honour are with meyea, durable riches include righteousness. My fruit is far better than goldand my revenue than choice silver. I lead in the midst of the paths of judgment; I may cause and I will fill their treasures.

Be about the look-out to your own share of blessings. They are ready to overtake you! Anticipate them, thank Him and place yourself mentally, emotionally and physically to receive them.

Seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all the things shall be added unto you. (Mat. 6:33)
