Colors of the American Flag

Listen to this article

I’d imagine that even before the ink in the Declaration of Independence had driedthe paragraphs:”Are you gonna have a flag? We have ta have a flag! Britain has a flag!” Were given by members of the Continental Congress. But then, a flag is more vital. It is a symbol representing a group and their beliefs — a means of identification.

It has been reported in May of 1776, Betsy Ross sewed the first variant of the flag now that we use. As states were added to the country the flag has, of course, gone through many layout transformations because then and stars were added into the layout.

Symbolism Abounding

I think our flag is filled with symbolism, unique and appealing as the layout is. For mepersonally, the stripes indicate blood, courage and suffering. The white stripes mean open-mindedness, purity and truth. Itself the term stripes, is associated with conflicts oppressions, punishments and lessons learned. An enduring flag represents a condition of coming-of-age or surving the hard way.

For mepersonally, the stars on our flag symbolize dreams, goals and the future — that which we aim for, in our own way — the celebrities, the boundless. The colour blue is identified with tranquility, peace and spirituality. Hopefully, our dreams and future is going to be surrounded with peace and spirituality, just as the stars in the flag have been surrounded with the blue.

Our flag is very similar to our nation. It is woven together by several threads, just as several nationalities, religions, philosophies and characters weave together our country.

The flag needs to be held up and supported to wave free, just like our nation needs support to continue to stay. A reaction can be caused by any snap. A wind can produce the flag whip around on its foundation. But when it will become torn and weathered, hanging on by just a few strands, as long as it is attached to its foundation, it is going to continue to hang on and wave. It’s the wind blowing from the flag that keeps it waving, that allows the stars (as well as the stripes) to be viewed. It’s the winds of demonstration and criticism brought on by a country that keeps it shaping and changing and prevents it from sinking into apathy or a euphoria. . .or worse.

Not as Straightforward as it Seems

The flag isn’t black and white, and are issues between it. You will notethat there is one red stripe compared to white, showing that there’ll be more pain and battle than there’ll be truth and innocence.

An amendment (“H.J. Res.10″) giving Congress the power to prohibit the physical desecration of the flag, continues to be around for vote many times. However,”desecration” means greater than being burned or shredded in protest and anger. Throughout the favorite sale of variants of the flag that’s been put on items which range from paper notebooks and jewellery, to table cloths and tops, it’s been proven that the flag comes with a marketing appeal as well as a patriotic one. However, Title 4, Section 8-d, 8-g and 8-i of this U.S. Code (rules and regulations) prohibits wearing it or putting an image of it on anything that is meant to be thrown off. The code states it is not be utilized for advertising purposes. For that reason, it is always interesting to see how”desecration” is interpretated.

An Implied Pledge?

Any flag represents it is past, and group or a state’s future. Therefore, before you burn it or praise it, condemn it or vow allegiance to it, for exactly what it represents, you need to take another look at it and really see it.

Sometimes I think our country’s”pledge” has gone into a different rectangular thing…a green one. With all the corruption and crime in this country, it is as if the”Pledge of Allegiance” was subconsciously rewritten to:

I pledge allegiance to the buck

of the United States of America.

And it stands out.

One cartel, beneath the stock market, insatiable,

Using affluence and greed for the blessed.

Can Our Flag Always Wave Free!

Since the 9-11 tragedy, the white, red and blue American flag flying from buildings than ever and was viewed on more cars. Maybe we ought to continue to wave our flag even more and be ever cautious to see whether it continues of which it has ever been known to reflect the liberty, integrity and justice.
