The psychologist, Carl Jung, clarified hidden portion of our mind as”the shadow”. It is the component that don’t want to know about ourselves, or sometimes frightens us with the things we don’t know.
It’s basically our unconscious mind. It comes from a welling up of emotion times and dreams.
I only had any thoughts about this so-called”dark” side and the way it applies to understanding mind management.
Some folks are so oppressed that revealing any interest in this shadow aspect generates fear if for no better reason than it is what you had been told to not.
Most of us are very likely to consider the voice of Darth Vader saying”Come to the Dark Side, Luke!”
That shadow side exists and folks will say to ruin it. To ruin your passions, wants, needs and wants. They’ll beg for us to connect with something greater that we can dream and think about.
They provide without being clear on what it is us something greater.
Their hope is that if we give up all that makes us creatures we’ll become Human, or maybe we might become Divine.
We could dream.
But do we dream of denying what we want right here and now, at the expense?
At a society (family/relationship) which endevours to control and oppress in 1 way or another occasionally the”shadow” side of us is the healthiest and performing the banned, i.e., loving your shadow will be the best thing that you could do for yourself.
They present it just like an either/or proposal. Should it be?
By embracing the simple fact that we’re animals (prove to me you don’t have a genetic make up and I’ll believe differently ) and reaching upward perhaps we could come to a centre and sensible earth.
See the sport of life and politics, i.e. brain control, as part of the Large Picture and you could walk Wide Awake with feet firmly planted on the ground and still reaching upward.
It is the best of both worlds.
Why would you want less?
