Measuring Life

Listen to this article

You can not really outline on life, since life isn’t any longer the exact same it differs for each and every one of us. I’m constantly taxed with thoughts on the aim of life. Or perhaps another way to look about that, is how to live a life of purpose. Look in the mirror at yourself. Look at your friends, your loved ones. What drives us? Many things do. Are they good or bad? What is our reasoning behind these things? Since it pushed into the forefront in my own life I will strike at one. Possesions. That which we have. That which we eat. Is it human nature to dwell like that or did one day we place love and being humble aside, and decide we needed to have more than our neighbor? Can you beleive in God’s creation of the earth or do you beleive in development? Did either of these 2 things make greed? Was greed created by man? Was it character from the’cave era’ greed was generated by that from a demand for survival? Or did we make the man up, and sometimes of need is it’s not true that we’re better off if we stay together, together with phrases like love and share?

What if life was looked at and defined by what we gave away. How much we gave ourselves away. I beleive that most people at one point in our life happen to be caught up in the issue of chasing what we believe to be the world’s riches. Some succeed, some fail. Both lead to the same end. An end where all will soon be left behind; and end which tells us how foolish we were to be chasing after the wind through our times. How much you give not much you have.

Ecclesiastes 2:17-26

. . .What does a man get for all the toil and anxious striving? All his days his work is pain and grief; even at night his mind doesn’t rest.

…I hated all the things I’d toiled for under the sun, because I have to leave them into the one who comes after me

…A man can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in his job. This too, I see, is from God’s hands, for witout? To the man who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and joy, but to the sinner he gives the task of gathering and storing up wealth to hand it .

This all sounds a bit familiar. Maybe since Mathew got at it 6:19-21

“Don’t store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break in and steal; but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven where neither moth nor rust consumes and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

Jump on me for the thought if you want, but keep in mind that no where at the preceding does it state it is bad,”to possess”; or God would not be happy if you have more than somebody else. What I’m saying is do not measure to your riches to your capacity to throw yourself and be thankful for everything you have.
