An idiom is a term which has a meaning. Idiomatic expressions understood and are generally used slang phrases. An essential kind of idiom is the phrasal verb, a verb whose meaning is changed when another word is added. The word is known as a particle. Verb + particle verb. Following are a few examples of verbs. To search ways to see, or to search for something. Look upward – to get or find info. Examples include: Can you look up his telephone number? I really don’t understand exactly what time the next bus leaves. I’ll need to look it up. Look up to – to admire. I looked into my wife.

Look on – to watch, like a spectator watches event or a game. Since the soccer team lost we looked on. Watch out – to be careful or watchful (to get some type of risk ). Look out! This bus is coming this way! Keep an eye out as you drive on the street for falling outwards. Keep an eye out for – to guard My sister seems out for me in the park. They are cousins that always keep an eye out for each other.
