Take Your Stand On Immigration
Listen to this article

There’s a lot of talk recently regarding immigration. I can barely pick up a copy of the information without studying some headline story our nation is currently dealing with. Every leader has another perspective about how our nation should be tackling the issues ahead of us.

I, for one, have a difficult time visiting our nation become divided when there are important things going on in the world, over matters that certainly don’t matter. I get frustrated viewing our nation divided about immigration when there are thousands and thousands of people. We enjoy our American society so and no one from the outside is allowed to enter and disrupt we enjoy it.

As a columnist for the regional newspaper, lots of individuals have been asking me to write a column in my opinion regarding the immigration controversy that has been occurring lately. I have been reluctant to write on the issue because I have had difficulty entering a debate which I am unsure qualifies as a debate. On the one hand I could see why immigration is with. I am in complete agreement that we must do all we can to safeguard the citizens of America. On the flip side, I believe we’d be wise to remember that at some stage immigrants, the families that call themselves American all were at some point or another to our territory.

How then, can we take a nation that is one whose citizens originated from different lands and relatively so young and all a sudden put a standard? As soon as we, as even the authorities and citizens, earn the right to select who should be allowed to become part of our nation and who can’t?

Since we see issues if we take a serious look at the effects of immigration in our society, we will likely see as many advantages of immigration. There’s absolutely no doubt that individuals who come to America through immigration perform jobs that Americans are reluctant to perform. All these jobs are very important to wellbeing and our national economy, and consequently we will have to think about before we act to strictly on immigration.

The bottom line for me is that individuals have value. We will need to care more about the health and lifestyles of individuals than people care about whether they’re bothering us. We will need to give everybody, whether through immigration or not, an equal opportunity to enjoy.
